One of the great values in legal technology is Microsoft's subscription-based Office 365 office suite. One of the key applications in Office 365 is Outlook. For June, we bring you two Outlook tips for the price of one. Actually, our newsletter tips are always free.
Microsoft Finally Fixes Outlook Reminders
Most law office computer users have multiple windows from various programs open simultaneously. This means whatever is under those windows is invisible and may as well not exist.
That was a problem until recently with Outlook. Reminders in Outlook would pop up behind instead of in front of other open windows. Odds are you would never see the reminder. There is now a fix for this problem.
First, make sure your Office 365 installation is on Monthly Channel Build 1804 or later. This is a good reason to enable and promptly install automatic Windows updates and specify you want it to also update other Microsoft products when Windows Update runs.
If you are on Build 1804 or later, you will see the following new option added to Reminders.
Check the box to Show Reminders on top of other windows. This will fix the problem and your Outlook reminders will pop-up on top of all other windows so you don't miss them.
Have Outlook Read Your Mail Aloud
A simple click on the Ribbon lets you hear your email messages read aloud. Here is how to do it.
