Tweet and Blog your way to a burglary?

According to a post on ZDNet's Between the Lines blog, it can be risky to reveal too much about your whereabouts or travel plans on your blog or on Twitter. It is possible that burglars are using that information to determine when you will be away so they can break into your home or office.
This reminds me of the warning from my parents not to leave mail in my car with my address visible to passers-by when running local errands or at the movies. With movies especially, you can be sure that a recently parked car outside the theater will still be there 90 to 120 minutes later. If you have mail in your car showing your address, it provides burglars with an easy mark if they know you won't be home for an hour or two.
