Keep files in sync between multiple devices
One of the dilemmas associated with using a notebook, netbook, or smart phone to work when away from the office is how to keep files in sync between your office PC and your mobile device. You may start a motion or brief at the office, then continue working on it at home or on the road, only to realize when you arrive back at the office that the version you see is the old one without the changes and edits made while away.
There are several remote synchronization services that will let you keep you files in sync between multiple devices. One that has received rave reviews lately is SugarSync. This service now offers free accounts permitting up to 2GB of on-line backup and storage in addition to its synchronization service. It also has applicati0ns for the iPhone, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile that allow easy access and synchronization of your files from these mobile devices. A feature list comparison with other remote sync services shows the flexibility of SugarSync. About the only thing SugarSync won’t do is sync with Linux-based computers.
