What is the Worldox Salvage Bin? The Salvage Bin is a temporary location within Worldox that is used to store deleted files. By using the Salvage Bin, it enables file restoration if desired, much like the Recycle Bin in Windows. Let's review where the Worldox Salvage Bin is located as a quick reminder.
The Worldox Salvage Bin is that function we wish existed for every other program we use daily, that program that gives us a second chance when we are quick clicking away the day.
Like other systems, certain functions are managed by gatekeepers who have control to maintain the daily, weekly and monthly functions. In Worldox, the Salvage Bin is one of those areas controlled by users with Administrator Access.
The Salvage Bin must be turned on in order for the users to be able to use it. Once enabled, it can be restricted to certain groups or certain users, depending on how Worldox is configured at your site.
The Worldox Salvage Bin, like any repository of data, must be scrubbed occasionally. The Worldox Administrators can manually delete the files inside of it or schedule the "Run Salvage Purge" (Automated) process to help maintain the volume.
Here's a step-by-step look at how to set up the "Run Salvage Purge" process.
We recommend the following settings be used when setting up the "Run Salvage Purge":
- If Deleted: 3 Months Ago
- Run Date: Sunday
- Run Time: 6:00 AM
- Notification (GX4 Only): Email Address
This setup is easy to put into motion and once it has been established you no longer have to worry about cleaning this bin. This will ultimately help with the efficiency of your system by reducing the number of documents accounted for by Worldox.
