World Software has released a new security feature in Worldox GX4. You now have the ability to require a password when a user launches their Worldox program. This effectively provides two factor authentication with the first being the login to your computer and the second being the password to login to Worldox.
The Password feature is more effective when every user in the firm is required to enter a password to run Worldox. If one user does not have it turned on and is compromised, it can expose all the other colleagues in the firm.
When the Password security feature for Worldox is turned on, you are prompted to enter a password when you reload Worldox or your PC is locked and reactivated. When you are prompted to enter a password, you have the option to recover it using either your email address or cell phone number. Passwords can be between 4 and 40 characters. If you ever forget it, recovery instructions will be sent to you in an email or text message so you can regain access to Worldox. The recovery email address option grants you access to Worldox if you do not have your cell phone and you need an alternate way to get the access code.
Your Worldox administrator can turn this feature on in your WDADMIN console. In WDADMIN.exe, select Edit > Group Security and then Features. Scroll down to the Password feature. Add the necessary groups or users in the right pane by clicking the plus sign (add) icon.
