It is vacation time. Many lawyers, judges, and others in the legal profession take time off during July and August. We leave our homes and offices behind. How do you keep an eye on things at home while you are on the road?
The incredibly handy web site How-To Geek, has detailed instructions on several ways to use a camera to look in on your home (or office) when you are gone. There are fancy special-purpose surveillance cameras and IP cameras you can buy for this purpose. But it is simple enough to repurpose a regular web cam (if connected to a computer) or even an old cell phone or iPod (I used a couple of old iPod Touch devices for this purpose a couple of summers ago with great success). You just need the right software, and How-To Geek lets you know your options.
