Brian D. Mark, Esq.

Senior Data Engineer

614-407-7384

Brian’s role at Affinity involves document assembly, data migrations, and custom software and reporting development, both for our clients and internally. Brian’s career journey began in 4th grade, when he took his first coding course on a Commodore Pet. Later, he received a BS in zoology from Michigan State University, followed by a MS in ecology, evolution, and organismal biology from The Ohio State University, where he focused on population genetics and bioinformatics. Thereafter, Brian attended Capital University Law School. He passed the Ohio Bar in 2004. Research, critical thinking, problem solving, logic and strategic planning have always been a part of his life. Brian practiced litigation for a while, then joined Affinity as a consultant. He was hired by one of our clients to be their lead developer, but is now back with us.

Brian’s superpowers are critical thinking, problem solving, and strategic planning. His favorite part of his job is getting to create something new.

Brian is a curler and former board member of the Columbus Curling Club, where he led the player and instructional development committee (he is level 2 certified instructor). In general, he enjoys spending time curling, designing, and creating things (3d printing, woodworking, etc.), tinkering with smart home and IoT devices, boardgaming with friends and family, working on crafting the perfect cup of coffee, and when possible, spending time outdoors with friends and family.
