Affinity Consulting Blog

On of Microsoft's nicer freebies is Office Online. It is a browser-based version of Microsoft Office that is surprising full-featured and user-friendly. It is a legitimate rival to Google Docs.

As reported this week by Paul Thurrott, the best consumer/small-business blogger focusing on Microsoft, there are useful updates to Office Online. The improvements lawyers will find useful include a new start page, better file management, and the ability to more easily add files to OneDrive (which is where I now store all of my files for my small appellate practice). You can use Office Online on almost any device with a browser (such as a Chromebook or Linux machine) even if it cannot run the desktop version of Office. I use it on my Chromebook while traveling and have instant access to edit all of my documents or create new ones anywhere I have an Internet connection.
